What happened. IntelAgree launched a private beta of Saige Assist: Agent, which uses a customer's clause library, playbooks and negotiation history to analyse, redline and make approval-gated updates to contracts.
What it actually means. The useful contract agent is not a better clause writer. It is an agent that can apply the standards your team has already earned through negotiation, then carry the result into the operating system of the work. That makes the playbook more than a reference document. It becomes a live control surface, which is where most CLM products have always wanted to get.
What to watch. Whether approval gates remain meaningful when the agent starts changing playbooks, rules and contract data, rather than merely proposing a redline.
