Sorry for being quiet the last couple of weeks. I took a short break on the UK coast and purposefully had no access to the internet.

It was bliss.

And while I was away, a lot happened.

So let’s get into this.

Additionally, you may notice that I’ve ramped up the quality/data of our paid community content. I’ve been spending a lot of time reviewing data and making the most of my Perplexity Business Fellowship to access data at a scale I never thought would be possible.

Procurement platforms are moving beyond isolated copilots and embedding agentic capabilities across contract, supplier, risk and finance workflows. The market question is no longer whether a product includes AI, but what work it can execute, which decisions remain human and how performance is evidenced.

It’s been an incredible privilege to work directly on this new technology and apply it to the work that all of you carry out each day.

If you are evaluating these platforms, compare the underlying workflow, data requirements, controls and implementation fit—not the number of agents shown in a launch announcement.

OpenAI has just made GPT-5 the new default in ChatGPT, with a stronger “thinking” mode, improved factual accuracy, and deeper utilisation of your company's context. In OpenAI’s tests, answers with web search enabled were roughly 45% less likely to contain a factual error than GPT-4o, and when using the model’s thinking mode they were about 80% less likely than o3. Enterprise customers are also receiving GPT-5 Pro with extended reasoning capabilities.

In short, it’s incredible. I’ve played with it extensively and suggest, as always, that you use it each day in some part of your Procurement role.
