akirolabs focuses on the work before a sourcing event: understanding a category, agreeing priorities and keeping its strategy usable. Its value depends on whether that shared strategy changes decisions, rather than how quickly AI fills a document.

What is akirolabs? The company behind akiro, a procurement strategy platform, and akiroAssist, its AI support. This assessment focuses on category strategy and the associated collaboration, scenario modelling and strategy repository. Supplier strategy is also advertised but is not separately assessed here. What procurement work does it support? Category analysis, strategy development, stakeholder input, comparison of options and tracking initiatives. WOP classifies the scope as category strategy, primarily workflow/control, with intelligence and strategy-record roles overlapping. It is not a purchase-to-pay assessment.
What does the AI describe? Summaries, suggested actions and value levers, market signals and extraction of existing documents into strategy tools. The site explicitly describes human-led decisions. AI at Work.
What customer evidence is published? An Axpo story dated 12 June 2025 describes a common strategy method and adapting global plans locally. A Bertelsmann story on the same date reports collaboration involving more than 150 stakeholders and over €250 million of annual IT spend. Spend is context, not a saving produced by the software. How is it offered? The public pricing page describes annual subscriptions, unlimited users and strategies, tailored onboarding and qualified pilots. It publishes no monetary price and describes template CSV uploads for users, spend, suppliers and category trees. What governance is claimed? Role-based access, SSO, activity logs, export/deletion options and ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Certificate scope and actual tenant configuration have not been verified here. Security.
