Alpas targets a practical manufacturing problem: finding suppliers outside the buyer's familiar network. The assessment turns on whether those candidates become credible alternatives, and how much of the technical and commercial validation still sits with the procurement team.

Vendor at a glance

What is Alpas? An AI sourcing platform aimed at manufacturing companies buying mechanical, electrical and chemical parts, plus engineering services. Its public offer centres on supplier discovery and comparison. Alpas.

What does the product describe? Regional or global search, supplier profiles, RFx automation, quote comparison and shared supplier intelligence. WOP classifies the scope as sourcing, primarily intelligence, with workflow/control and record roles overlapping. Product scope.

What specific customer data is published? The vendor's Deutz account reports 16 potential new suppliers and €500,000 in potential cost savings for onboard chargers. Its Swiss Federal Railways account reports 12 potential suppliers and 17% cost savings around CNC machining centres. The page does not give a reproducible savings calculation or a clear case-publication date. Potential savings are not realised savings. Customer cases.

Is there evidence published by a customer? Brose's own 26 November 2024 announcement names Alpas as its innovation-award winner and describes faster, more efficient supplier search. This corroborates use and perceived value without validating a particular savings percentage. Brose announcement.

What headline claims need context? The homepage advertises ten times faster supplier search and up to 57% procurement-spend savings. These are vendor claims without a reproducible calculation alongside them, not a forecast for every category. Homepage claims.

How is it available? A standalone browser application is offered, with ERP integration also available. The FAQ still describes SSO as planned; current SSO availability is not established by that wording. No account or demo has been accessed. Access FAQ.

Research basis: public-source desk research, 11 October 2026. No hands-on test, observed demo or independent outcome validation. Members receive the assessment against all eight WOP criteria below.
