Vendor at a glance
What is Anvil Analytical? A procurement and supply-chain analytics platform combining spend, carbon, market, contract, supplier-risk and project views. Anvil describes itself as a SaaS provider and part of the FourCentric professional-services group. Its software and the group's advisory work should be assessed separately. Platform, company background.
Who is it for? Procurement and category teams that need a consistent view of fragmented expenditure, with finance, sustainability and business stakeholders using related measures. WOP classifies the assessed scope as spend analytics, primarily intelligence, with record and workflow/control overlaps.
What concrete information is available? The homepage describes more than 1,000 prices and indices, a contract repository linked to spend, and a risk framework using spend category, country of origin and supplier type. These are vendor-described features, not independently tested coverage or accuracy. Feature overview.
What does a project look like? Anvil's anonymous private-equity case reports analysis across 12 portfolio companies, 34 ERP systems and eight weeks. The account explicitly says that 4C supplied strategic advice alongside Anvil's analytics. It also describes invoice scanning as a proof of concept for one business; that is narrower evidence than a proven rollout across the portfolio. Portfolio case.
What results need context? An anonymous energy-sector case reports £15 million in identified savings opportunities. That is an opportunity figure, rather than evidence that £15 million reached the accounts. The case describes spend and contract analysis followed by broader risk and sustainability work. Energy case.
Evidence boundary: The portfolio page gives conflicting lower bounds for its savings figure, and the reviewed cases do not provide independently validated calculations. Anvil's AI descriptions also lack enough operational detail to establish autonomous purchasing authority.
Research basis: Public-source research checked 11 October 2026. No WOP product test or observed demo. Members receive an assessment against all eight WOP criteria, including data reconciliation, project ownership and the difference between opportunity and delivery.
