Vendor at a glance

What is Candex? A platform and payment service for small, irregular and one-time suppliers. Candex acts as a master vendor: the buyer places an authorised order through Candex, while the underlying supplier registers and submits the information needed to receive payment. The aim is to reduce the number of suppliers the buyer must set up in its own finance system. Product overview.

Where does it sit? WOP classifies procure-to-pay as the primary job and workflow/control as the primary role, with execution and record overlaps. It coordinates an approved purchase and its payment; the buyer's existing approval process remains relevant. Buyer workflow.

What coverage is stated? Candex says it operates in 50-plus countries. It lists connections with procurement systems including SAP Ariba, Coupa, GEP and JAGGAER. These are vendor descriptions; WOP has not verified the available configuration for each country or integration. Overview and buyer integrations.

What does it cost? The usual transaction fee is 3%, with the buyer or supplier bearing it according to the configuration. The pricing page says fees can vary and managed deployments or custom integrations may cost extra. This is not a quote for a particular deployment. Fee explanation and pricing.

When is the supplier paid? The standard documented process pays the supplier usually within three business days after Candex receives the buyer's funds. That is not a promise of payment three days after an invoice is submitted. Process overview.

What customer context is available? Candex's spotlight page features BT Sourced, Hitachi Energy, Arm and Medtronic. These are vendor-published examples. WOP has not independently validated their outcomes. Customer material.

Research basis: Public sources checked 11 October 2026. Members receive an assessment against all eight WOP criteria, including who retains approval authority, the supplier's remaining work and when the fee makes commercial sense. No customer deployment, payment or demo tested.
