What is Costdata? costdata GmbH, based in Cologne, provides product cost calculation software, benchmark datasets and a Commodity Price Tracker. Where does it sit? WOP classifies cost modelling as the primary job and intelligence as the primary role. It informs commercial decisions; a calculated cost is not an order, supplier award or agreed contract price.

What data is available? The Cloud page lists a Metal package covering over 33,000 alloys across 12 economic regions, a Plastics package with over 14,500 entries, and Machinery covering over 14,000 machines and 500 manufacturing technologies. These are vendor-stated coverage figures, not measures of accuracy or coverage of every specification. Its FAQ says data is refreshed at least every three months, with materials updated monthly. What does the software do? The calculation product describes bottom-up full costing and machine hourly rates. The Commodity Price Tracker evaluates changes across a chosen cost structure, with benchmark-linked or manually entered inputs.
