Hey Procurement Legends,
Supply chain chaos has hit 2024 HARD. I’m reading up and talking with people across the tech space so far. Everyone is aware of the huge challenges coming to procurement and the tech solutions are trying to solve this.
It’s a promising time.
You’ll see a slight change in some newsletters going forward as we bring onboard some Procurement Tech sponsors to this newsletter.
Each of them will share something awesome with you or have an event that could help shape your thinking around tech.
I kindly ask you to interact with them so we can keep funding this newsletter to bring you better quality content every week.
What I'm Reading Watching
I’ll be honest; I’ve had a week of reading fiction and sleep-interrupted nights as my Daughter experiences some form of sleep regression. Joys of parenting. Which means my morning reading sessions have vanished.
However, I’ve been watching some of Christian Schuh’s Procurement YouTube videos. I really rate his content.
This was a good one.
What I'm Thinking (about Procurement)
AI in Procurement.
Partly prompted by my own experiences in 2023 and latest community article over on . left a comment that I couldn’t help but nod my head along with.
If you’re looking at Procurement Tech and asking about the AI/ML capabilities ensure you’ve a reason why you’re asking about it.
Too often people are asking about AI without any knowledge about what they need or how they can be aided by it.
We need to do our homework first and figure out if we even need AI…especially as most are referring to Gen AI.
One Procurement Tech Focused Insight
Supply Chain Risk Visibility is a big opportunity right now. I see this as a huge gap in Procurement Tech offerings to visualise our supply chains and figure out the Tier N disruptions.
One Piece of Content I've Found Useful
Beyond the pieces I’ve already noted which you should check out I liked this piece:
Procurement software startup Pivot has raised $21.6 million in a Series A round, just a few months after its creation. Despite a decline in startup investments in Europe, Pivot's rapid scaling and positive client feedback have contributed to its success.
