Keelvar helps procurement teams compare sourcing awards when the cheapest individual bids do not necessarily produce the most workable overall result. Its documentation is also unusually useful for understanding what suppliers actually submit and what an award record means.

Vendor at a glance

What is Keelvar? A sourcing software provider. This assessment focuses on Sourcing Optimizer and the documented event controls around it. Keelvar also markets Autonomous Sourcing, Kai and Rate Manager; their full performance is outside this assessment. Product overview.

What work does it support? Collecting supplier bids and comparing award scenarios against business constraints. Its optimization guidance explains rules that limit how many suppliers win selected lots, using minimum, maximum or exact counts. This makes the product relevant to allocation decisions with several competing requirements. Optimization guide.

Where does it sit? WOP classifies the assessed product as strategic sourcing, primarily intelligence, with workflow and control as an overlapping role. It supports the decision and records the sourcing outcome; that does not establish that a contract has been signed or savings realised.

What does the supplier journey look like? Suppliers can submit through the interface or an uploaded bid sheet. Importantly, the optional “I'm finished bidding” button signals completion but does not save the bid. Online bidders still need to submit their changes; offline bidders need to upload their file. Bidder guide, completion control.

What customer data is available? A vendor-published Schneider Electric case describes over 5,000 ocean-freight lanes, an award involving seven suppliers and four bidding rounds over two months. It reports approximately 60% lower costs and 30% fewer suppliers, with professional-services support also credited. The public account does not establish a comparable cost baseline, typical result or the software's isolated contribution. Schneider Electric case.

What are the material limits? A valid bid is not proof of accurate supplier capacity. A calculated award is not proof of a delivered commercial outcome. We have not verified current package entitlements, pricing, live solver performance or enforcement of a customer's approval policy. Keelvar's public validation rules and award-feed documentation explain specific behaviour, rather than independently validating a deployment.
